A graphic novel of non-fiction written in the historical words of Anne Frank's Diary. This book describes the life behind walls that the Frank family endured with the Van Daans and others in the back hidden rooms behind the office of Anne's father.  They were forced to eat rations and not go outdoors.  At times Anne complains as a teen would about her family and blames them for the troubles that they are surviving and tells of how much she disliked Mrs. Van Daan.  She dreams of the life she had in the past and tells about it frequently as she looks back.  She describes the bombing and the deaths that occur.  Anne fall in love with Peter. Anne gives horrific details about sickness, death, and cruelty and all other details of the holocaust.  The after word explains how eight people were hiding in the annex were arrested on August 4, 1944 and some were taken to Auschwitz and gassed to death, but Anne and her sister Margot were taken to Bergen-Belsen, a concentration and both are believed to be buried in mass graves.  This book was written with expressive horrible description of the thing that were done to humans, but also with humorous and sarcastic tales of things that happened to Anne and her family while living in hiding.  The graphics in the book made things appear as if you were experiencing them yourself.  The book talks of Anne being vain and it makes you wonder how she reacted when captured and makes you wonder how she dealt with not being able to be so outspoken and opinionated.   You may also enjoy reading Waltz With Bashir or The Congress a Ari Folman Film.
