I was asked by a professor to choose a feed reader, and the feeder that I choose to recently join is called Boglovin’ because it was free. I am not certain how I feel about it yet, but I like the format because it is similar to Pinterest and I love Pinterest! I have begun to follow multiple bloggers and the Mo Willems and Book Bug blogs are really good and have added their links. https://www.bloglovin.com/blogs/mo-willems-doodles-2312349 and https://www.bloglovin.com/blogs/book-bug-5222729 My critics are that some of the Bloggers are overly political and do not give both side of the situations, so I choose not to follow them. I found many bloggers to follow about libraries and books to read and add to collections. I did not choose Feedly or Newsblur because I did not want to pay 36 to 64 dollars a year just to read and blog. I also like Tumblr and have added links to some of the accounts that I follow on Tumblr in this Blog to highlight 5 of the Bloggers that I am following on Tumblr. After using this site, I think I will mainly stick with Tumblr and Pinterest because I found it simpler to roam and search through.
My first choice is https://the-librarian-geek.tumblr.com/ because of the relatable book reviews, fun quotes, and stories about the library that are available.
My second choice is https://librarianbyday.tumblr.com/ because the blog is current, includes editorials, health related articles, peer reviews and politics.
My third choice is https://schoollibraryjournal.tumblr.com/ because you can link into their Facebook, twitter, and more. You can read information about events and articles.
My fourth choice is https://thatblondelibrarian.tumblr.com/ I like her blog site because you could read librarian cartoons, experience and click on additional links to go to her Pinterest.
My fifth choice to follow is https://heylibrarylady.tumblr.com/ I enjoyed reading and seeing the great quotes, book reviews, challenged books and discussions.
The following is my new Tumblr account. I also started a blog. I will try to add more to it soon. I am new to the blogging thing. I am also a little overwhelmed this semester so I am doing all I can to keep my head above water!

With everything going on, it is understandable that you are a bit overwhelmed this semester. I enjoyed your post and also prefer free sites over ones that charge money. As an educator, we need to be wise about where we spend our money, especially if we can get a service for free over having to pay for one.
ReplyDeleteI also chose Bloglovin’ since it was easy to use and like you mentioned very similar to Pinterest. The blogs you shared from Tumblr are great to follow and provide great information and ideas.
ReplyDeleteI think there is some real value, especially as an educator, in the visually-based feed readers and similar sites, including Pinterest, Bloglovin', and Tumblr. Being able to see images and visuals and the application of certain ideas makes me feel like I can replicate it in my classroom or home.
