Sandwiches! More Than You've EVER Wanted to Know About Making and Eating America's Favorite Food

Sandwiches! More Than You've Ever Wanted to Know About Making and Eating America's Favorite Food.

Sandwiches!: More Than You've Ever Wanted to Know about Making and Eating America's Favorite Food [Book]Deering, A. (2017). Sandwiches!: More Than You've Ever Wanted to Know About Making and Eating America's Favorite Food.Ill by Bob Lentz, North Mankato, MN. Capstone Young Readers.
Anything you ever wanted to learn about the sandwich is featured in this non-fiction, colorful, graphic book. The book gives the reader an exploration of sandwiches, for example, the history of sandwiches, what is a sandwich, what tools are used to make one, safety tips and other facts and trivia. There are 5 levels of sandwiches described by the author; plate and knife, toaster & microwave, oven/broiler, stove/skillet & panini press, and finally cooking, recipes and prep work. This book also offers advice from pros and variations of the traditional sandwich, such as, different cheeses, scales of mustard, and breads
that can be substituted. I never realized that there where so many types of sandwiches and was intrigued to discover where they all came from, an example the Hoagie began in Philadelphia. The illustrations are exceptionally done by Bob Lentz. The book gives recipes that can be easily replicated by teens or anyone else with simple illustrated directions. After reading this fun filled book of yummy delights, I think I could even create these recipes and I don't consider myself the chef type. A 2018 Top Ten Quick Pick for Reluctant Young Adult Readers. Also let me suggest by author and illustrator Deering and Lentz two additional creative reads; More Meat Please! Delicious Sandwiches for Meat-Eating Kids and Hold the Meat Vegetarian Sandwiches for Kids.
