A beautifully written non fiction graphic novel written about twenty-nine women in history from all around the world. Each Chapter features a women who has done something worth talking about in history that has changed the lives of others. Some of the women have been mistreated and beaten or worse to come to their fame. Women that when faced with challenges, over come and succeed in life even while being chastised. These stories are true, funny and sad about politics, freedom, wars, art, design, careers, activism, and exploration. I loved these short biographical stories and some of them I had never heard, not even in movies, which I thought someone should make movies of these women to inspire others. I especially enjoyed that she did her own bio at the end which told of how she came to be the artist and writer that she is today. At the end of the book she list 30 other "rebel" women and hopefully she will make a them a sequel. Such a good read and worth the time to learn more about these women who were strong and courageous to take on the world. More books by Penelope Bagieu are California Dreaming and Exquisite Corpse.
